Local 71 Member Benefits include educational scholarships for members and dependent family members, including grandchildren.

Scholarships may be applied to all levels of education.

Eligibility Requirements:

Applications must be a member or a dependent, including grandchildren, of a member in good standing with Public Employees Local for no less than 1 year.
Applicants must either be enrolled in a training or educational program or demonstrate that they will be enrolled in training or educational program within 12 months, otherwise approved scholarships that are not paid out within 1 year from approval date will be null/void.
Once you receive a scholarship, you may not reapply for one calendar year.

Current employees will submit their most recent performance evaluation, If applicable.
Applicants will submit a course description, if available (asking that if available be removed), for the training or educational program in which the applicant is enrolled or will be enrolled within 12 months.
Applicant must submit the training program or educational program’s W-9 form, you may get this from the educational programs billing/financial department.

Application Procedure:

The exact nature and content of the scholarship program will be determined on an annual basis by the Executive Board. The fund will announce the scholarship recipients by letter and/or phone. Your name may be published in our Annual newsletter, L71 Facebook and Local71.com.
