MEMBERS UPDATE: No Disruption to Pharmacy Service

PRESS RELEASE:

CVS Health Reaches New PBM Pharmacy Network Agreement with Walmart

Walmart to Remain in the CVS Caremark Commercial and Managed Medicaid Networks

Walmart also Continues to Participate in CVS Caremark Medicare Part D Networks

I am pleased to share with you that CVS Health has reached a new multi-year agreement with Walmart on their continued participation in the CVS Caremark pharmacy benefit management (PBM) commercial and Managed Medicaid retail pharmacy networks. Walmart will also remain part of the CVS Caremark Medicare Part D pharmacy network.

As your PBM, our top priority is to help you and your members lower pharmacy costs. The new agreement accomplishes our top priority and enables Walmart to continue participating in our commercial and Managed Medicaid pharmacy networks, offers enhanced network stability, and prevents disruption for you and your members.

When making strategic decisions such as network coverage, we put the interests of our clients and their plan members at the forefront. With the continuing participation of Walmart, the CVS Caremark national pharmacy network will have nearly 68,000 participating pharmacies for members to choose from, including independently-owned, community-based pharmacies, other local pharmacies in grocery stores and mass merchants, as well as regional and national chains.

We appreciate your patience and partnership as we worked to seek a positive outcome in network negotiations with Walmart that is in the best interests of our clients and consumers.

Sincerely,

Derica W. Rice
