CALL TO ACTION SUPPORTING ALASKAN UNION FAMILY FIRE LOSS:
Dear Brothers & Sisters of Local 71 and our greater union family,
This summer much of Alaska was ravaged by wildland fire. Some of that occurred in areas that devastated homes and businesses. One of our own was forever affected by this tragedy. We are coming together to support Local 71 Member, David Finch and his family, and we hope you will join us.
The Finch’s lost nearly everything this year when the McKinley Fire ravaged their home. The Finch family escaped with only the clothes on their back, their dogs, and a few sentimental items. Now they must rebuild, and as we know, “Winter is coming.”
Donations of tools, clothes, food, & household supplies are being collected at the Local 71 Anchorage Headquarters on Arctic Blvd.
Specific sizes for clothing are as follows:
Men’s: Shirt: XL Pants: 36x34 Shoes: 12 Coat: XL | Men’s: Shirt: 3x Pants: 46x34 Shoe: 13 Coat: 3X | Women’s: Shirt: 1,2X Pants: 18L Shoe: 9.5 Coat: 2X |
And, if anyone has a lead on potential out-buildings or Conex, that is one item that will help them greatly to get re-established.
Thank you to all our Union Brothers & Sisters who we know will eagerly step up to support Brother Finch and his family. We really are “all in this together,” and we appreciate all that Union Membership brings in the sense of family and community.
In Solidarity,
Jordan Adams
